Here we enter the kitchen which boasts a private setting for one as well as preparations which appear to be soon for a dinner party/buffet. Sunflowers are a bright theme to this lovely well lit room. 

Ohana Gaming Community created the lovely Sunflower items shown here. Ohana Gaming Community is an exclusive non-profit group. They are a relaxed group of gamers who like to hang out, stream on Twitch and create fun and relaxing spaces within Secondlife all while raising money for Charity.

One of the many fantastic items at the Expo is this home by Glas Houses located on Hope 8. I will be covering different parts of this home in a series of posts so you can get a feel for some of the wonderful designers that I have decorated the interior with. But first, about this great home! 

Phedra is a new release making its debut at the Home & Garden Expo this year.  Phedra is a Mid Century Modern with an open floor layout and a rather interesting divider between the bedroom and the sunken living room.  In addition to the bedroom and living area, there is a dining area, kitchen, and a room that can be used as an office, bathroom, or second (small) bedroom. It is 97 Land impact and measures 29 x 22.  Phedra is a 100% RFL donation item.  

The first room we will enter will be the living room where two spunky basset hounds are playing. Check post #2 HERE

They See Fireworks

 They see fireworks and so can you! With the fireworks system by Isabel Decor. There are two types you can purchase, Unlimited and Promo. The promo has a limited number of launches and then it will no longer work. You can control both unlimited copy and Promo Edition fireworks via the same Universal HUD. Don’t forget to switch on the sound and set midnight while using your fireworks.

In Memory of Mom

 

It's been over a year now that my adopted mother, the woman who raised me, bandaged my knees, taught me strength and shared her wisdom, passed away. We lost Mom in October of 2019 from her third and final battle with cancer. She fought the disease valiantly for several decades and won twice. But, it would be the first cancer, thyroid, she had ever been diagnosed with that would return with a vengeance and claim her life in this final battle. So many of life's lessons that I was taught by this pillar of strength come rushing back to me when I walk through the woods ( hiking and walks surrounded by nature were enjoyed from a young age), listen to music ( she was a concert pianist, my father an opera singer), and even read a book( we always compared notes about the latest great book we had read). She also taught me that it was Alright to be adopted, that I was loved by two mothers, one who loved me enough to place me into the arms of another who was able to raise me with love. And later helped me find and reunite with my birth mother as well. So, it is with a heart full of gratitude that I honor her memory with this memorial put together in Second Life to keep her near in both worlds. And the reason I will continue to relay and strive to help as I am able to help raise funding for cancer research.

Our Incredible Container Home

 

This home is made out of two shipping containers. A cousin to the tiny homes that are all the rage right now. This is a cost efficient way to get a home for cheap! I have been decorating but there is still so much room in there, not sure what I'll do next. Probably need a bedroom at some point. A perfect little home just for Gwennie and I. This is what is known as a modular home, which is a home that is made of prefabricated parts, in this case cargo containers.  It is two containers joined together to offer a snug, but livable home environment.  Cargo container conversions are cousins to tiny homes and distant cousins to mobile homes.
