The House of Glas Part 1

 

The Home and Garden Expo February 26 - March 20 2022

 is the largest and longest running event of its kind in Second Life.

. Its main goal is supporting Relay For Life through its fundraising efforts. We strive to educate, entertain and help the people of Second Life to give to an amazing cause. Home and Garden Expo prides itself on championing not only Relay For Life but the visitors, exhibitors, performers and volunteers who make this event so successful.

HG Expo supports Relay For Life through fundraising in various forms throughout the event. Funds are raised through sponsorships, exhibitor fees, donation items, Great entertainment offerings, The Wall of Hope, Decorating Contest, Finale Auction and much more. More information about this event can be found on their website HERE.

One of the many fantastic items at the Expo is this home by Glas Houses located on Hope 8. I will be covering different parts of this home in a series of posts so you can get a feel for some of the wonderful designers that I have decorated the interior with. But first, about this great home! 

Phedra is a new release making its debut at the Home & Garden Expo this year.  Phedra is a Mid Century Modern with an open floor layout and a rather interesting divider between the bedroom and the sunken living room.  In addition to the bedroom and living area, there is a dining area, kitchen, and a room that can be used as an office, bathroom, or second (small) bedroom. It is 97 Land impact and measures 29 x 22.  Phedra is a 100% RFL donation item.  

The first room we will enter will be the living room where two spunky basset hounds are playing. Check post #2 HERE

Our Incredible Container Home

 

This home is made out of two shipping containers. A cousin to the tiny homes that are all the rage right now. This is a cost efficient way to get a home for cheap! I have been decorating but there is still so much room in there, not sure what I'll do next. Probably need a bedroom at some point. A perfect little home just for Gwennie and I. Come on in and check it out. There's dinner ready in the kitchen and you can read  by the fireplace.

Glas Houses - Zoe Zoe

This is what is known as a modular home, which is a home that is made of prefabricated parts, in this case cargo containers.  It is two containers joined together to offer a snug, but livable home environment.  Cargo container conversions are cousins to tiny homes and distant cousins to mobile homes. You can find this on sale at their booth on Hope 8

The Beach Retreat

Born and bred in the UK Etamae first began taking pictures and turning those picture into art in 2018. Since then she has enjoyed some success with exhibits at various venues as well as supporting the very worthwhile Home & Garden/Relay for Life expo.
You can regularly find Etamae underwater or staring with great intensity at something quite ordinary (as if there is anything can be called ordinary in this double click world!) and that is exactly what is at the crux of her artwork, 'the ordinary, and then she enjoys  changing it into something else - not more - simply different
